Our mission.

Safe Families for Children seeks to keep children safe and families together. Safe Families for Children is rooted in faith, fueled by radical hospitality, disruptive generosity, and intentional compassion, to build a network of caring and compassionate volunteers to support families facing social isolation. Our goals are to prevent child abuse and neglect, reduce the number of children entering the child welfare system, and support and stabilize families.

Our story.

Founded in 2003 in Chicago, Safe Families for Children (SFFC) has partnered with hundreds of churches, local community agencies, and volunteer families, as well as government organizations to walk with parents facing social isolation to keep children safe and families together.

SFFC in Wisconsin is implemented in partnership between 1000 Generations, Inc, a Wisconsin 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (dba Safe Families for Children Wisconsin), and the SFFC Alliance.  The Wisconsin Chapter has 7 different Service Area Sites that reach 14 counties.

Our process.

SFFC connects parents to a network of support through family-like relationships with vetted volunteers. Our volunteers are fully vetted and trained to provide support and resources to parents while they get back on their feet. What makes SFFC so unique is there are many roles in our Circle of Support so everyone can do something!
